Arts Integration Training
An example of a media asset designed for training elementary teachers in arts integration.
Elementary school teachers are required to teach several different standards, curriculum as well as score a certain percentage on test scores. Students find that the information overload is exhausting. Arts Integration is an effective approach to engaging students in the classroom, and raising test scores. Training on how to implement arts integration was developed for elementary teachers grades K-5.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of the training, learners will successfully be able to develop an understanding of the principles of art, justify why the arts are important to student growth and apply the knowledge of arts integration.
Teachers will begin their training with an infographic describing the four main arts and their elements. The infographic is described in detail with narration. There are several similarities among the different arts but each holds a different meaning.
Students working on an arts integrated social studies piece. These pictures along with video clips helped create the video represented at the top of this page. The video provides data as to why arts integration should be implemented for students.
The training comes to an end with a breakout game that provides teachers with realistic challenges and a fun opportunity to apply the knowledge they have acquired. There are four challenges that allows teachers to utilize the different arts for different subjects.
Using these multiple assets along with local subject matter experts will allow teachers to fully understand and how to implement arts integration into daily lesson plans. By the end of this training, teachers will be knowledgable and skilled in integrating the arts to make learning meaningful
